How to segment an object from the background using histogram ?

How different objects are being separated using the histogram of the image?Please also provide the link to the matlab code,if available.

Using a histogram it is next to impossible to segment objects. First think about what it is you want, then try to solve it yourself. Then if you get stuck, you can come here and explain what you tried, how it failed and what you would like the result to be. Also attach your image.
