plot3c.m colormap issue

I am using the great function plot3c.m (https://uk.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/5735-plot3c#feedbacks)

However, the colormap is not working properly. I am plotting points in 3D space (x,y,z) and i want to colour them according to their velocity magnitude. plot3c(center_z,center_y,center_x,velocity_x,'o','Title');

What I am getting out of Matlab in terms of plot is attached. Only one colour of the colormap is visible, even if the values increase from a minimum to a maximum, and the points on the 3D plot are clearly of different colours.
