How to install Matlab on two computers without need to deactivate?

2 views (last 30 days)
I ordered Matlab 2017b. I have always installed Matlab on a desktop and a lap top before. This time I'm asked to deactivate on of the installations? Is there a way to install on two machines?

Most frequent contributors here are just enthusiasts, not Mathworks employees, and even if they are, most(?) only answer questions on this forum in their free time. If you want to be sure, look first in your account where you should see the type of license. If that doesn't help you, you can contact support with the Contact Us button at the top of the page.
That said, I think all personal licenses will require you to buy a license for each machine-user pair.

Here is some information on the different types of licenses with details on how many activations each allows.

I believe professional licenses allow 4 activations/installations - that's what I have and I have a personal professional license.. Go to the licensing area on their web site and look up your account - you may have more activations that you realized - I know I did once. Deactivate any there that you don't know about or need anymore. If there is just one there and you're trying to install a second one and it's asking you to deactivate one, then one activation is all your license allows. Call them directly for more info.
