I am a student at UT Austin and my Calculus class requires that I use Matlab for assignments. However, I cannot figure out how to download it onto a chromebook. In order for me download it for free through my school I have to download it from the installers, windows, linux or macOS. So what should I download that will let me download this on one of these installers?

Have you considered using MATLAB Online? That wouldn't require an installation and would probably offer more horsepower.

Chromebook is Linux based.
MATLAB is not supported on Chromebook but it might happen to work. I would not expect it to work without installing some extra software packages and making some links for libraries: that is, it is probably more of a case that it could be forced to sort of work rather than a case of it working properly just by installing it.

Well, now there is official support for Linux on some chromebooks. How to install matlab on such a chromebook? It seems you need a *.deb file. I have a license, of course.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-add-linux-to-your-chromebook/ gives some information on how to install Linux.
I imagine that after that you would need download the MATLAB installer for Linux. And you would probably need to install a bunch of support packages. Linux is a pretty fractured market right now and Mathworks has difficulty keeping up.
