Save Workspace outside of Matlab application. Help PLSSSS

My Matlab application somehow crashed. Matlab is black, although it was running the whole time. Now it stopped. I suppose that it has finished what I have been running the memory is occupied but the window of Matlab is black whenever I open it. How can I save the workspace and everything outside of Matlab?? E.g command line of windows , or by starting an other matlab shortcut....

The process should be shielded from outside probing, so any way you might find to save your variable would be considered a bug/security issue. At least that is my understanding of it.

If this is indeed the case, you have no other option than terminate the process, either directly with a task manager, or by rebooting your computer.
