Hi, I did some work using online matlab application https://matlab.mathworks.com/ and want to save working files to my hard drive. Why I cannot do this?
There are a few ways you can save your files to your desktop from MATLAB Online and MATLAB Drive:
1) In MATLAB Online, you can download any file onto your desktop by clicking the "download" button on the toolstrip (under the "Home" tab). This will download the selected file in your Folder Browser to your desktop.
2) The other method is to download the MATLAB Drive Connectorhttp://www.mathworks.com/help/matlabdrive/ug/install-matlab-drive.html. This will create a MATLAB Drive directory on your local machine, and synchronize all the contents automatically with your MATLAB Drive/MATLAB Online. So, any changes you make to your files in any MATLAB Online session will be reflected in this directory (and vice versa).
If you can elaborate on what in particular isn't working, we will investigate the issue right away. Any additional information you can provide is appreciated.
Hey Hisham, I seem to be experiencing a related problem. The download button on the home tab is disabled (it is visible but I cannot click on it). Strangely enough, I can click on the 'upload', and then window opens on which I can select files from my hard drive.
Make sure you have a file selected first. Once you have clicked on a file and higlighted it, the download button should be enabled. Let me know if this helps.
This seems to work for individual file. However, if I select a directory with many subdirectory, the download button is disabled. Do you know any way to get around this?
Anisha: To select a file, click the left mouse button on the file in your Current Folder Browser in MATLAB. Then you will be able to perform the file specific actions from the toolbar (the Download action is under the Home tab in the toolbar).
David: If you want to download multiple directories from your MATLAB Drive onto your desktop, the best thing to do is download the MATLAB Drive Connector. If you have MATLAB desktop installed on your machine, you can follow the instructions at:
An alternative to downloading and installing the MATLAB Drive Connector would be to zip up the folder and sub-folders into a .zip file, and then download that file onto your desktop.
