How to reverse interpolate a 3D multivariate grid

Asked by Jackson Shannon on 18 May 2018

Hello,

I have a grid of points in 3D space and a grid of function values, f(x,y,z), that correspond to each point. Given a measured value of f, I would like to find (inverse interpolate) the resulting combination (or combinations) of x,y,z values that would yield this function value. I have seen this done using the contour function, but only for f(x,y) functions.

I really appreciate any help on this,

Jackson
