Create a DOSloader bootable USB drive for xPC-Target

I wish to use the DOSloader option of xPC-target to boot my computer from USB DOS drive into xPC-target. This consist of 2 steps:
  1. Creating a DOS System Disk
  2. Use DOSloader to build 3 files, and copy these files to the USB drive.
The first step is where I get stuck. The matlab manual is insufficient and I found many tutorials online which did not work for me for multiple reasons. I use WINDOWS 7 OS (32-bit). It is quite frustrating that such a supposedly simple task can take so much time!
My question to you:
What is the minimal effort into creating a simple bootable USB drive with DOS under Windows OS, such that xPC-target bootloader files can be added and xPC-target can run?

You can use the program 'Rufus' and Format your USB drive with the option 'Create a bootable disk using FreeDOS'.
Then copy the files to the USB drive and you are ready.
