How to paste an image from clipboard into an RTF document in version 2011b?

Hello,
I am working on generating an RTF document containing plots, tables and colored texts. Till now I didn't find a way to paste an image from the clipboard into the file. I found some resources mentioning that an image shall be inserted in hexadecimal format (from an imported image using imread() function). Is there a way (or a resource that I can refer to) to help me in generating this document?
