As of R2018b, it became possible to use the MATLAB Coder product to take MATLAB code and generate standalone executables for raspberry pi. Support for Arduino, iOS, and Android are not available; I do not know if those will be added.
For all previous releases, creating standalone executables for raspberry pi, Arduino, iOS, or Android requires using Simulink.
MATLAB Coder is not available in all licenses. It is not available for the Home license.
