How to make a figure have the right aspect ratio?

681 views (last 30 days)
Hello everybody,
I have a weighted bivariate histogram like the one one the picture. I would like to print them more or less in the way depicted: one perspective view and one bird's eye perspective. However, the bins in both cases seem to be distorted. Normally, they should be squares because there ten bins in each direction. Is there a smart way how to force Matlab to display the figure undistorted?
I've already tried out to modify "DataAspectRatio", but it didn't work.
Thank you in advance for your ideas!

Look at the axis() function. After you make the axis/plot/graphs, try
axis equal
or
axis square
One of them should be what you want.
