Side lobe of FMCW wave in Radar simulation

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi, I'm trying to create a radar simulation dataset.
But comparing the 2D FFT spectrum from my experiment results with the simulation results, I notice that there is a "clear cross" in the simulation results.
If there are multiple targets in my setting, there will be more crosses even if I increase the number of my receive antenna to attain more angle resolution.

The other is my experiment result. (captured by a radar board)
And there is no any cross.

So I plotted the column where max peak appeared and tried to analyze.
I noticed that in matlab simulation it seems like a sinc wave but the other isn't.
My question are:
  1. It should be a sinc wave or merely a exponential wave?
  2. The "cross" should be the side lobes of sinc wave, how can I decrease the effect?
Thanks a lot and happy new year.

I didn't understand your question. When there are more than one targets, why shouldn't there be more than one peak in the image? It is not related to the angel resolution. Also what is the configuration of the hardware you are using? Looks like the simulation and experiment result suggests qutie different beamwidth.

I resolved it.
I added a window function in my experiment results.
