How to save image from axes in GUI

How can I save an image from the axes of the GUI. I modified and edited the image ('newImage') shown in the axes. How can I save it using a pring push button. Also, how can I set the handles of the image that was modified through the upload push button. Thank you. Do you have a code for this? Thank you

Ramon - how did you update the axes of your GUI? Did you use imshow or image to add the image to the axes? If so, you may be able to use the handle of this object to get the image data. Also, please clarify what you mean by how can I set the handles of the image that was modified through the upload push button. Do you want to save the handle to the image? Are you using GUIDE, App Designer, or are you programmatically creating your GUI?
