How to fit an ellipse to my data using MATLAB

8 views (last 30 days)
I have some recorded fixational eye movements data stored in vectors "x" and "y". x is horizontal eye movements in degrees, y is vertical eye movements in degrees.
Uisng these two vectors I want to calculate the Bivarite contour ellipse area (BCEA). The BCEA is a metric that quantifies the area of the region over which eye I want to fit an ellipse that best fits this data.
Equation of BCEA = 2.291*SD of x* SD of y* sqrt(1-corr(x,y)2)
Can someone please help me writing a matlab code for doing this. I tried doing this. I got to know what is the value of BCEA. Having these value how do I fit an ellipse of the x and y data.
Help towards this is my appreciable.
Thanks
