Release one license without stopping the license manager?

How can i release one license without stopping the license manager? The help pages say to stop FlexLM then restart it. But if we have several people using it I don't want to have them all close out their session.

You cannot. This facility is not available with this particular license manager.

(It is one of the most common license managers which has been around a long time, but in some ways it is not really a good license manager)

That is very disappointing! I can do that with Creo so why would't it be available in MatLab?

It could possible work. The problem I have is I don't have enough rights on the server to run it so I can't see if does actually work.

For sure it cannot be done without admin rights.
