Real-time data acquisition?

Hi there,

I worked on epilepsy on mice, evaluating electrophysiology data (up to 500 Hz signal). I would like to apply a stimulus (by another device) at exactly first moment and 2 s after starting the seizure. Therefore, I need a programm to catch the signal from first device, detec seizure automatically, and ask the other device to apply a stimulus. Is it possible to use national instruments (like USB-6001) and Data Acquisition Toolbox for this purpose? The later, has really effective for this purpose and there is no significant delay in this process? Because delay is very critical issue for our project
