Hello, I am running this MATLAB on Windows
MATLAB Version: 9.5.0.944444 (R2018b)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0 (Build 18362)
I'm using MATLAB from several years, this version is installed from two years.
Suddenly, since the past few days I can't open ANY .fig file, neither with the drag&drop on the command nor with double click. I get the same error dialog "Error using plot. Invalid first data argument." I don't have problems to open .mat or run scripts.
If I create a new figure, save it, close, and open the problem reappears.
The only way I can open a .fig is to drag&drop in the workspace, in this way the Import wizard show up and a few moments later the plot open.
What I've noticed: if I do the above procedure, sometimes it opens the figure twice. Then, if I click on the figure "Save as", I see in some cases
  • Name file: myfig.png
  • Save as: MATLAB Figure (*.fig)
And in others
  • Name file: anotherfig.fig
  • Save as: MATLAB Figure (*.fig)
I think something isn't working properly, but I haven't changend nothing on my PC or in the MATLAB settings.
I guess the only option is to reinstall MATLAB altogether, but I would avoid this option if possible.
Hints?

Thank you Adam for your suggestion, but I've no idea if I have done this maybe by accident.
Unfortunately, there is not more error message apart what I've reported: it is just a pop-up error dialog saying "Error using plot. Invalid first data argument." nothing more!

Well, the lack of error messages is fortunate, actually ;)
