Real time video processing behaves different from prerecorded video for template matching

As my final year project im making a tracker mouse. A feature to be tracked is clicked on which become the template. This template is to be searched in the subsequent frames using template matching and the mouse pointer is to be moved accordingly.
If i input a video it works perfect, but in real time i'm not getting the result. Any idea why?
