Extract vertical line numerically from curve plot

3 views (last 30 days)
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to extract vertical line (blue color) from a curve plot as shown in the image? I'm also attaching the datapoints, where coloumn 1 is X axis and Coloumn 2 is Y axis. The thing is, I have 1000 of such plots and only tried to show a simply example, and in someway I want to exclude horizontal lines (East-West directional) and keep only vertical lines.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @darova, I want to extract from latitude 49.46 until 46.26. The thing is I have 1000 of such plots and only tried to show a simply example, and in someway I want to exclude horizontal lines (East-West directional) and keep only vertical lines.

Can you? Sure.
I'm not aware of anything that will do this for you automatically, but if you have the X and Y data of the curve, you can come up with your own code for determining what portion of the line meets your criteria for vertical, and then extract those points from the vector.

Yes! But there are more than 1000s of random curves so it is literally complex to seperate the horizontal and vertical part.
