Hey cody fellows :-) !
I recently created two problem groups, but as you can see I struggle to set their cover images :
What is weird given :
  • I already did it successfully twice in the past for my previous groups ;
  • If you take one problem specifically, Problem 60984. Mesh the icosahedron for instance, you can normally see the icon of the cover image in the top right hand corner, can't you ?
  • I always manage to set cover images to my contributions (mostly in the filexchange).
I already tried several image formats, included .png 4/3 ratio, but still the cover images don't set.
Could you please help me to correctly set my cover images ?
Thank you.
Nicolas

Hey Nicolas,
At the moment, I can see that the cover images for those problem groups have been successfully set. Are you still facing issues with the images on your end? If so, could you let us know more details such as what errors you are seeing and what browser you are using? Thanks!

Hi Vanessa,
Thank you for your reply. Yes the problem remains until now.
I am surprised you can see these cover images. Here below is a screen capture of the Cody problem groups page on my PC. I am the creator and curator of the three last ones. As you can see the cover image appears only in the first case. In the other cases, the default image is displayed. I am running the last version of Mozilla Firebox.

Thanks for verifying! Here is what I can see:
I am still trying to reproduce the issue but some suggestions I can offer is to clear your browser cache, visit in incognito/private mode, or even use a different device to see if the issue persists. I am also curious that if you access the links to the problem group images directly, can you see the images as expected? [Removed links since these no longer work due to the recent bugfix]

Thank you for your reply. I am surprised. I can see the two pictures indeed, at thumnail format. I actually do encounter the same issue on my smartphone, running Firefox too as a Internet navigator, so I guess may comes from it.

Could you try checking these URLs as well? These are closer to what the direct image links actually are.
  1. https://fr.mathworks.com/responsive_image/200/150/0/0/0/cache/matlabcentral/cody/group/95796/show_image.jpg
  2. https://fr.mathworks.com/responsive_image/200/150/0/0/0/cache/matlabcentral/cody/group/95759/show_image.jpg
We can also try to identify potential errors through the browser:
  1. Navigate to one of your problem groups.
  2. Open the network tab of your browser. Refresh your page.
  3. In the URL filter, search for "show_image". If that doesn't show any results, search for "show_default_image" instead.
  4. Right click that row and open in a new tab. What URL and image do you see?

Ok this doesn't come from Firefox since I actually encounter the same trouble with Edge. For these two last liked pictures you sent me : I can't see my icons, only the defaut >>| of a Matlab submission. Same In the network tab : the show_image I have is actually the default >>| Matlab submission sign. Thanks again for your help, Vanessa.

After some investigation, we've found a bug with how Cody caches problem group images. This is why some users can see the images you've uploaded and some cannot.
We've reset the cache for the image links so they should now be visible. Could you verify if you can see the new images on your devices?

Great, glad to hear! Note that until we fix the bug completely, you may encounter the same caching issues if you upload any new pictures to the problem group. Please feel free to reach out again in that case.
Thanks for your help on the matter and for contributing to Cody!

Ok just for information : the exact same problem actually remains on my cell phone, on which I run Firefox on Android. This is weird. Not such a major issue though. I guess most of Mathworks users use their computer, not their smartphones.

Hi Nicolas, sorry to hear you're having issues with File Exchange. Please make a post on MATLAB Answers as it will get more visibility there, and my colleagues can follow up with you on that thread.

Hi Vanessa. In relation to this topic we discussed about a few weeks ago ( Image format for problem group cover in Cody ? ). I developed several toolboxes in Matlab and shared them on the file exchange (Mesh processing toolbox, mesh generation toolbox, point set processing toolbox, Prime Number Set Exploration Toolbox, Printable Iterative 3D Meshed Fractal toolbox, etc...). However I can't see any of them appearing in the file exchange community toolbox list : Community toolbox list (sorted by number of downloads). I don't understand what I missed. Could you please give me a hand to solve this problem ? Thank you. Cheers. Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, we've released an update for Cody which includes a fix for the image bug. If the latest image still does not display on all devices, please try uploading again to resolve any caching issues. Thanks!

Thanks for the info—we'll look into this case while we fix the bug. I will update the thread once the fix is released to see if it resolves the issue.
