Is there any way to perform the last step, linking the histogram to an expression (e.g., data(:,2)) rather than having it automatically link a variable name (e.g., data2) as part of an M-file, rather than using the GUI? i.e., the equivalent of the following, but for hist() rather than plot():
ha = plot(data(:,1),data(:,2),'.b');
