"This example is an application of the approach introduced by Dr.Stéphane BRISSET and Dr.Maxime OGIER at Ecole Centrale Lille in the paper ""Collaborative and multilevel optimizations of a hybrid railway power substation"" published on the selection of OIPE2016.

The paper deals with the demanding task of optimizign the dimensionnal and control parameters of a railway substation connected to the electric power grid that needs to satisfy a variating power demand.
The main idea is to linearize the cost function (which needs to be minimized) in order to solve the problem using linear programming. This way, a satisfyning solution is found quickly even for a large number of decision variables (52 565 in the paper).

The application uses cost data found easily on the internet and applies it to a factory problem similar to the one on the above research"
