Sampling interval estimation for TLS point cloud
Version 1.0.1 (1.5 MB) by
MAOLIN CHEN
Estimating sampling interval/ angular resolution for terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data/point cloud.
In TLS data/ point cloud, sampling interval or angular resolution is the angle between two horizontally or vertically adjacent laser beams. It has significant influence on point density, feature design and parameter setting in the post-processing of scanning data. This code estimates this parameter when it is unknown, which is the case for many TLS datasets.
Change the path of a txt point file in resolution_est.m to use it. Two small point cloud is also included for test.
