MICROGen is a universal electronic control unit that operates as a node in bus-based systems, allowing protocol conversion and rapid prototyping to be quickly and easily implemented. It can generate real-world signals via its configurable, GENIX-type I/O and convert the incoming protocol to an alternative standard for use by other nodes downstream. Versions are available with more than 140 I/O channels, including PWMs, analog and digital I/O, wheel speed sensor I/P, half bridge O/P, and high-current relays.
MICROGen is used by large-scale manufacturers who require a low-cost, in-vehicle, prototyping tool for verifying control strategies and testing software as well as small-scale manufacturers seeking a cost-effective alternative to custom-built, prototyping hardware. MICROGen is programmed using the comprehensive, customized Simulink blockset provided, with support for the Embedded Coder and Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 products from MathWorks. The compiled program is then downloaded via the CAN-bus interface.
