MPLAB IDE runs as a 32-bit application on Microsoft® Windows®. It is easy to use and includes a host of free software components for fast application development and debugging. MPLAB IDE also serves as a unified interface for additional Microchip and third-party software and hardware development tools. The common user interface across all MPLAB IDE tools makes it easy for developers to move between the free software simulator, the hardware-based debugging and the integrated device programming tools.
This toolset uses plug-ins to connect the MPLAB IDE to MATLAB® and Simulink®, plus provides blocksets offering target specific support for Microchip devices. With these plug-ins and blocksets, software designers work within the MPLAB IDE to select Simulink models, automatically generate source code from the models, and include the generated source code files as MPLAB IDE projects for compilation and build.
