Release 2019b Products with License-Related Changes

Robotics System Toolbox

As of R2019b, Robotics System Toolbox™ has transitioned into three products: Robotics System Toolbox, ROS Toolbox, and Navigation Toolbox™.

  • Robotics System Toolbox provides an integrated environment for designing, simulating, and testing robotics applications
  • Navigation Toolbox provides algorithms and analysis tools for designing motion planning and navigation systems
  • ROS Toolbox provides an interface connecting MATLAB® and Simulink® with the Robot Operating System (ROS and ROS 2)

Robotics System Toolbox, Navigation Toolbox, and ROS Toolbox each require MATLAB, but they do not have a dependency on each other.

Navigation Toolbox and ROS Toolbox are available starting with release R2019b and later. Robotics System Toolbox retains the same license base code and allows for usage on older releases.

New license(s) are provided to include the following products at no initial cost:

ROS Toolbox
Navigation Toolbox

They will appear on future Software Maintenance Service renewal invoices.
