Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing of a Position Control System

Hardware-in-the-loop testing allows the designer to simulate the real-time behavior and characteristics of their physical system, so that prototype or production control system software can be tested without the need for the actual hardware or operational environment. In order to do this the plant model must be real-time capable.

This webinar will use a position control system to demonstrate how to build plant models that can be used to for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. The webinar will include:

  • Techniques for building plant models in Simulink
  • Executing the plant models in real-time

This webinar will highlight major features in the Simulink Physical Modeling tools used to build plant models. Focus will be placed on techniques to build plant models which can be executed in real-time with xPC Target. Included will be an emphasis on how the Physical Modeling tools enable this process and how to determine and select the appropriate level of fidelity.

This webinar is for people familiar with Simulink who want to develop plant models and use them for HIL testing applications.
