The growth of electric vehicles and renewable energy are examples of the increasing electrification driving the use of power electronics control.
Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing is an accepted real-time simulation practice for validating controllers for power electronics systems. However, controller validation for power electronics can require running simulations at sampling frequencies of more than 1 MHz. This sampling time requirement is challenging for microcontroller-based test systems but can be achieved by auto-generating floating-point HDL from Simulink® and Simscape™ models and running the code on FPGA-based real-time computers.
In this talk, you’ll learn how to create Simscape circuit models and deploy them to FPGAs in a Speedgoat real-time computer that can be used for testing a digital controller.
