Programming Soccer Robot Behavior

From the series: Modeling, Simulation and Control

Sebastian Castro, MathWorks

Sebastian Castro introduces an example of an autonomous soccer robot match that demonstrates how MATLAB® and Simulink® can be used for system-level modeling of complex engineering systems.

First, Sebastian describes how to establish a model architecture for the entire robot soccer system. Then he shows how to build a low-fidelity simulation of a typical robot soccer match, implement the individual robot behavior and centralized game logic using Stateflow®, and finally generate standalone C code from the final algorithm designs.
