Active Contour Toolbox

This toolbox provides some functions to segment an image or a video using active contours

Description

This toolbox provides some functions for manipulating planar, closed splines to implement image or video segmentation by means of deformable (or active) contours. Contour topology is managed in a way that should allow changes similar to what can be observed with level sets (merging and splitting but no hole creation). Several objects can be segmented simultaneously in several frames.

The example is included in path "usage". Please note that this package needs Matlab R14 Service Pack 3. Lower version will have some problems when you called the function â??cellfunâ??. Only R14SP3 support function handle in Cellfun. have fun...

To make it run copy all files into the "usage" folder. The results are good, but it takes for a while. The option "islands" were used for initialization.

It seems to be a very good library. One of the problems is that it only works in very new versions of MATLAB. The other problem with my data was that it could only work for closed curves. I could not get it to work with open contours.

I think future releases will be very good as the code is refined. Also documentation on which algorithms are used (paper references) would be very helpful.
