File Information
Description

The attached ZIP file contains a tutorial for using the SonnetLab Toolbox for MATLABĀ®. SonnetLab is a free MATLABĀ® toolbox that enables users to control and automate Sonnet's 3D planar electromagnetic simulator.

The attached tutorial will build a Sonnet project in the form of a patch antenna and utilize a simple optimization routine to maximize its -3dB bandwidth. The tutorial will generate each iteration of the optimization by removing metal patches from the antenna, simulating the resulting project, and determining the bandwidth.

This tutorial requires the latest version of SonnetLab. SonnetLab can be downloaded from the Sonnet Software website: http://sonnetsoftware.com/support/sonnet-suites/sonnetlab.html

Please Note: SonnetLab was developed in conjunction with Syracuse University and is not a Sonnet Software supported product. Sonnet Software does not provide any warranty, either expressed or implied, for the SonnetLab toolbox for MATLAB.

Thanks for the comment Richard.

I don't have access to the optimization toolbox so I couldn't use it for this example. Hopefully this gives you an idea of the sort of things that can be done with SonnetLab though.

If you have any questions about it feel free to shoot me an email.

The optimization toolbox would probably do a better job at optimizing then your multi-step routine but it is still very interesting.
