A separately excited dc motor is controlled by using diode bridge rectifier, having 4 diodes taking 1-phase sinusoidal input supply with 230v. diodes are Uncontrolled switches, so the output parameters having ripples.
This is one of the most popular rectifier configuration and are used widely for applications requiring dc. power output from a few hundred watts to several kilo watts.
