Overview

Automation capabilities in Simulink allow engineers to focus on their state-of-the-art products and innovations and leverage tooling support to achieve process quality aspects like traceability, consistency, and documentation. The ability to simulate design artifacts in Simulink at early development stages contributes to shifting many verification activities to the left, which allows engineers to detect defects as soon as they are introduced in developed systems.

About the Presenters

Mohammad Abu-Alqumsan is a product manager at MathWorks. Mohammad focuses on quality, safety and cybersecurity and consults with industry participants on qualifying tools and developing workflows that comply with popular certification standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF, IEC 61508, ISO 21434 and Automotive SPICE. Before joining MathWorks in 2020, he was working at Validas AG as a project manager and research software engineer. Mohammad has a doctorate degree in Brain-Computer Interfaces and Robotics from the Technical University of Munich.

Peter Abowd is CEO of Kugler Maag Cie North America. Peter’s expertise ranges from building successful global embedded software organizations and providing organizational change leadership to guiding teams in implementing practices from ASPICE, functional safety, agile, software product lines, and CMMI. Before Kugler Maag, Peter led Altia, Inc., and held engineering and leadership positions at Visteon and Ford. Peter holds a B.S.E. degree from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S.E. from Carnegie Mellon University.
