OpenStack Systems Engineer

Systems Engineering is a full-stack team with a diversity of expertise and engineering backgrounds. We design and implement compute and storage infrastructure that support our Development organization. We use a hybrid of commercial, open source and in-house developed solutions to increase performance and improve fault tolerance in support of the building, testing, and releasing of all MathWorks products.
Responsibilities
You will develop, enhance, and maintain OpenStack based private cloud used by an automated build and test system customized for product development in MathWorks. You will be responsible for automation and maintenance of the private cloud. You will engage with the multiple tenants that subscribe to this private cloud, assess their requirements, and enhance the system to stay ahead of the evolving product development needs. You will also work to support hybrid cloud environment to support specific product areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in setting up cloud infrastructure using OpenStack
- Experience in maintaining and operating private clouds
- Coding experience using Python
- Experience in using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Experience in working with Cloud APIs
- Experience practicing DevOps methodology and Infrastructure as Code
- Demonstrated ability to work with Open Source software
- Experience with administering Linux and Windows systems
