MATLAB Runtime (MCR) is a collection of shared libraries, MATLAB code, and other files that enables the execution of compiled and packaged MATLAB applications on systems without an installed version of MATLAB. End users who want to run these applications without MATLAB must install MATLAB Runtime or specify the location of a MATLAB Runtime network installation.
To create an application installer that contains MATLAB Runtime, you must download the MATLAB Runtime installer that matches both the version and update level of MATLAB used to create the installer. To distribute a packaged MATLAB application without an installer, end users must download the MATLAB Runtime installer that matches the version of MATLAB used to compile the application, at the same update level or newer.
