View Unified Verification Results in Model Testing Dashboard and in Requirements Editor
R2026bIf you are working on project-based requirements that involve test cases linked in Simulink® Test™ test cases, you can view the verification status of test cases linked to requirements without loading the Simulink test file or result file into the Simulink Test Manager (since R2026b). You can also view these verification results in the Model Testing Dashboard and in the Requirements Editor.
From the Requirements Editor, the digital thread (Simulink Check) detects modifications in test files and determines the need for retesting. If artifact tracing is disabled in the project, the Requirements Editor shows a banner at the top to indicate that artifact tracing is disabled. To enable artifact tracing directly from the Requirements Editor, click the link on the banner message. This approach lets you enable artifact tracing without navigating away from the editor. For more information on artifact tracing, see Enable Artifact Tracing for Project (Simulink Check).

If you cancel artifact analysis before it completes, the verification results can be stale or incomplete and the Requirements Editor shows a banner at the top to indicate that artifact traceability is outdated.

Click the link on the banner message to resume the artifact analysis and update the verification results.

If clicking the link in the banner message gives an error, change the project settings. On
the Home tab of MATLAB® toolstrip, click Settings. Select the
Project pane, and in the File Management
section, select Always make writable from the
Read-only project definition files list.
You can also configure artifact tracing from the Model Testing Dashboard settings. Open the Model Testing Dashboard from the Requirements Editor and click Enable and Continue in the Enable Artifact Tracing dialog box.

To use verification results in the Requirements Editor, click Digital Thread Settings and then select Track tool outputs in project settings.

To view unified results in Requirements Editor:
Open a project that has a requirements set with a Simulink test file associated with it.
Open the Requirements Editor. On the toolstrip, select In the Requirements Editor, select Columns > Verification Status.
Run the tests using one of these methods:
Open Simulink Test Manager and run the tests by clicking Run.
Run the linked test cases directly from the Requirements Editor without opening Simulink Test Manager. In the Requirements Editor, right-click the requirement set and click Run Tests. Select the tests from the Run Tests dialog box and click Run Tests.

The Requirements Editor displays the verification results for the tests.

View Test Information in the Links Pane
The Requirements Editor displays test information in the Links pane for tests that are linked to requirements inside the project, even when the test files are not loaded into the Requirements Editor.
If previously exported test results are available in the project, the Requirements Editor also displays the test results and their staleness information alongside the linked test information in the Links pane. You can assess whether the linked tests have passed and whether the results are up to date without loading the test file or result file into the Simulink Test Manager.
Considerations
To make full use the capability of the unified verification status while working with test and result files, keep these considerations in mind:
If you modify an existing test file and save it in Simulink Test Manager, the Requirements Editor displays stale results when you click Refresh. Run the tests again in Simulink Test to view the updated verification results in the Requirements Editor.
If you export the results file before deleting the same results file from the Test Manager, the Requirements Editor can display the last updated results.
You must export a result file only after enabling the Track tool outputs option.
You cannot retrieve verification results when you work with main and reference projects and move the exported result file manually to either main or any of the reference projects.
