Flexible Body Model Builder Enhancements: Generate data for stress-strain analysis
To generate data for post‑processing, use the Partial Differential
Equation Toolbox option. The app generates reduced‑order model
(ROM) data that includes a ReducedStructuralModel (Partial Differential Equation Toolbox) object. You can use this object with the
reconstructSolution (Partial Differential Equation Toolbox) function to recover full‑model results for
further analysis, such as evaluating stress and strain, calculating reaction forces,
and analyzing quantities at arbitrary locations.
Geometry Bundle Block: Build geometry bundle
You can use the Geometry Bundle to group multiple geometries into a geometry bundle. This way, you can model contacts on the bundle using a single contact force block instead of using one contact force block for each geometry pair.
compileBlockDiagram Method: Generate
CompiledMultibody object from Simulink models
You can now generate a simscape.multibody.CompiledMultibody object from a Simulink® multibody model. Use this object to analyze the model kinematics and
dynamics.
componentResults Method: Query results for joint
components
Use the componentResults method to query positions, velocities, accelerations,
forces, and torques for joint components in the compiled multibody system.
Transform Sensor block Enhancements: Specify observation and expressed-in frames for measurements
Use the Observation Frame and Expressed-In Frame parameters to control how the Transform Sensor block computes and reports measurements. The Observation Frame parameter specifies the reference frame for computing time derivatives. The Expressed-In Frame parameter specifies the coordinate axes for expressing vector outputs.
Enhancement for Flexible Bodies: Use general modal damping
You can now specify frequency‑dependent damping ratios when modeling flexible bodies using these blocks:
For more information, see the parameters in the Damping section of each block reference page.
MATLAB Classes for Simscape Multibody Enhancements: Use updated workflows for modeling and analysis
Use the updated MATLAB® classes for Simscape™ Multibody™ to model and analyze multibody systems. The updates introduce revised class interfaces, clearer workflows for model construction and analysis, and consistent representations for geometry, inertia, and transformations.
To learn the updated workflows, see these examples:
