Something more accurate than dde23?

Though we hoped to solve a set of delay differential equations with dde23, the professor for whom I work says that dde23 is not accurate enough. He says that we cannot publish our results in a good peer-reviewed journal because reviewers would reject it on the basis that dde23 is not enough. Does Matlab have a more accurate solver for delay differential equations with constant delay? If not, is there another software package to handle it? Thank you for your advice!
Clarification: If Matlab does not have a more accurate routine, there is a list of other (many non-Matlab) solvers available. Would you know which tool is best for constant-delays? Here is the list: http://twr.cs.kuleuven.be/research/software/delay/software.shtml
