How to implement logic in an electrical (DC) circuit?

Hi,
I am trying to simulate a HVDC hybrid breaker in Simulink & am struggling with implementing some form of logic to my "breaker". At the moment I have just two ideal switches in parallel acting as the breaker but I cant seem to get them to operate when the fault current rises above the desired level.
Any help is greatly appreciated
