How can I add a Braking System to my Project ?

Hello , I am a Student , I am working on Simulink for a University Project . So I am Using the double Lane Change Reference generator default Block and I need to add a Braking system to it . So does anyone know how to add a Braking system to a Project .

Hi @Abdelmoughit Miftah

It is relatively easy to ADD an existing system into a Simulink file.

Find someone who has the Simulink file of the Breaking System, then you copy and paste the system into your Double-Lane Change Simulink file. Just make sure that your friend is using the same or older version of Simulink.

By the way, what does the Breaking System break?

first of all thank you for your answer , so here is the problem Im workin on an existing project , it a simulation of a commercial vehicle so the vehicle can hit the target velocity and turn right or left and then hit the brakes . So till now I ve done it all but I dont Know how to add the braking system to my Project so now I need help adding it to the Project . ( and sorry I meant Braking not breaking )

No worries, @Abdelmoughit Miftah. I also mixed up words sometimes, like steal/steel, addition/edition.

If you have the dynamics of the brake system, I'd suggest you to build the model yourself in the Simulink.

Do you have the math that describes the brake system?

Thank you , I would like to do that but I m a Beginner I dont know much this is my first Project , the Braking system may be already in but I dont know how to activate it .

On the Brake system, I'm a beginner as well and you probably know better than me. That's why I advised if you have the math, then show it, because Math is the Language of the Universe. Although I know don't know how it works, if you have the math, then the brake system model can be constructed using equations, and learn from examples all over MathWorks websites.

From your image, I guess it should be a part of the Controller Block.

It's a problem for me too because I'm not an Expert in Brake System. But it is slightly strange, how can you know everything about the math of Lane Change Generator, Driver Commands, Steering Controller, Environments, Dynamics of Commercial Vehicle, Sensor, but know nothing of about the math of the brake system?

I think it is the same way of how you leamed the dynamics of Commercial Vehicle and the Steering Controller. If you found math from your automotive vehicle textbooks, you can definitely find the brake system from your library, professor's books, or even the Google Search. More importantly, you know how the brake system works, and so you must be able to recognize the math.

You just need to type out the math here, so that it can be copied/pasted to MATLAB. Very simple. Trust yourself that you can do it.

Yes It a Project for my University I did the Doube lane change but nothing else . Everything else was made by our Professor and we got the Project to complete it . I am a reaaaaal beginner thats why I reached out for help .

Ask your Professor, "Can you show me the math of the brake system in one of your books?"

(Guess your professor won't decline a sincere request from an honest student with the willingness to learn).

Thank your Professor and say, "I'd like to snap a few pictures of the relevant equations for the meaningful Project."

I'm wondering, what exactly did your Professor reply to you when you made the polite request?

Why would your Professor expect you to work with a stranger (who is NOT an Expert in Brake System) to complete a University Project? (This is just my perplexed reaction. Don't bother to answer...)

Well, what exactly can you do from here? If your uncaring Professor refuses to show you the Brake System in his automotive vehicle dynamics books, what pratical options do you have to find the knowledge about the Brake System? Seeking help from an Expert in Brake System, or asking a Bot?

Don't forget that this is just the Brake System part! Once you obtain the math for the Brake System, you will still need to learn (from tutorials on MathWorks or YouTube) on how to put those equations in MATLAB/Simulink.

Remember that MATH comes first before MATLAB/Simulink.
