Saving Simulink model (save_system) VERY SLOW in Matlab 2022a

I have a large Simulink model which I am updating programmatically in Matlab 2022a.

After the updates I click on save_system to save the model. That process takes an unbelievably long amount of time.

I used to do the same in Matlab 2018a, and it was very fast there. What could be the difference?

Why is save_system very slow?

Duration (for my model in my PC):

save_system in 2018a: 60 seconds

save_system in 2022a: 2200 seconds
