On having a closer look, it can be observed that the function (for case i==1) does not cross the x-axis (In the given range, however, due to the nature of the curve, it can be safely assumed that the observation follows for the extended range as well)

I think fun1 has to be considered as function from C -> IR^+. Thus w has to be defined complex:
fun1=@(w)abs(fun(w(1)+1i*w(2)));
Of course loooking at a surface plot will make it more difficult to identify a zero.

Looks like you are getting following errors while solving the equation using "fsolve":
1.
Solver stopped prematurely.
fsolve stopped because it exceeded the function evaluation limit,
options.MaxFunctionEvaluations = 1.000000e+02.
2.
No solution found.
fsolve stopped because the relative size of the current step is less than the
value of the step size tolerance squared, but the vector of function values
is not near zero as measured by the value of the function tolerance.
To resolve the first error, you can increase the "MaxFunctionEvaluations" as follows:
options = optimoptions('fsolve','MaxFunctionEvaluations',500);
res3(i)=fsolve(fun,w0,options)
Please refer to this MATLAB Answers post asked for similar error:
To resolve the second error, a good initial guess of "w0" is often crucial for the convergence of a solver. Try to refine your initial guess to be as close as possible to the solution.
Alternatively, you can also try to adjust other optimization options like "FunctionTolerance", "Algorithm", "MaxIterations", etc. To learn more about optimization options, please refer to the below documentation:
