Activation problems

Hi,
Trying to activate my Matlab license offline today (5 Nov, 2011). Downloaded the folder on another computer, and transferred it to the needed computer. As instructed, I entered the path to the license file, but received the following error when trying to continue:
"There was an unexpected exception. See the log file (/tmp/aws.log)."
(Really informative, as usual).
Matlab still doesn't run even after I tried changing the java preferences to run a different version: I had two options in the java applet runtime settings: J2SE 1.4.2 and J2SE 5.0. I had had the latter selected, so I switched to the former; but to no avail. I also tried dragging the former to the top of the list in the Java application runtime settings. Again, no luck
Please help,
Julian

"Downloaded the folder on another computer, and transferred it to the needed computer." Which folder? What does /tmp/aws.log tell you about the problems?
