MATLAB does not run on new iMAC

Got a new iMAC. Copied all applications from my old iMAC. MATLAB does not run on my new iMAC

You do not say what OS version you have on the iMac, though I can guess, since you say it is a new iMac.
The problem is most likely, you have an old release of MATLAB that you want to run on it. You did say you just copied the old applications over to the new computer. That will sometimes be problematic with applications, since they may have been specific to the older machine they were running on. This new iMac will have a completely different chip set on it. It is not just software, but very different hardware under the hood.
Assuming the OS on your iMac is macOS Sonoma (14), you should look at the system requirements page for MATLAB on the Mac.
What you will find is almost certainly, you will need to use a newer MATLAB release than you want to install.

You need to deactivate on your old Mac and reactivate on your new Mac.
