I want to open the mdl file but it prompted an error message, "Simulink not installed". How should I installed the simulink and where to get the files? I am using the R2013b now.

If you have a Student Version license then you go back to your installer and tell it you want to install Simulink.
If you have any other kind of license then Simulink is an optional extra cost. You would need to upgrade to a current version of MATLAB to be allowed to purchase Simulink in that case. If you are part of an organization then possibly the license has already been paid for and you would need to contact your IT people to find out.
