Is this Yosemite? If so, search the forum for the tag Yosemite to find the solution. Otherwise see the FAQ: http://matlab.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#After_installation.2C_MATLAB_crashes_or_gives_an_error_message_when_I_try_to_run_MATLAB. Call the Mathworks for free telephone help. Notice the word "free" - it's a deal you can't pass up, and certainly your fastest way to get up and running.

I have that exact version of MATLAB installed on OS-X. The library mentioned, libwmdisplay_device.dylib is not present in R2014a or any of the previous MATLAB versions I have installed back to R2012a. There is /Applications/MATLAB_R2014a.app/bin/maci64/libmwdisplay.dylib and there is a libwmnativedisplay.dylib there as well. I am unable to find any reference to libmwdisplay.dylib but libmwservices.dylib does refer to libmwnativedisplay.dylib
I would hazard a guess that you attempted to install a later version in the same directory as R2014a and have ended up with a corrupted MATLAB as a result and need to remove it and reinstall.
