MATLAB Segmentation Violation - Bug report workaround doesn't help

1 view (last 30 days)
I'm running MATLAB R2016a on ubuntu 16.04 and I get the segmentation violation problem that many others have had. The workaround given here: https://www.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/1297894 doesn't seem to work for me. Any suggestions on how to get around this bug?
