Why does Matlab run out of memory diagnosing an algebraic loop?

Hi,
I've built a full model of a synchronous machine and its control. It still contained an algebraic loop, which I could resolve. Still, sometimes the simulation aborts - apparently due to an algebraic loop that comprises a "Measure"-block from the library, my whole model and the following: "powergui/EquivalentModel1/State-Space'". I'm not sure what a possible reason could be, and when I try to highlight the loop, there was an error that says that Matlab has run out of Memory (>8GB). This occured on two different computers.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
Sincerely,
Lisa

Hey Lisa, How big is the model and how much time the simulation usually takes? What is the operating system and RAM available on your system? Also, please check if this is relevant: http://blogs.mathworks.com/simulink/2015/07/18/why-you-should-never-break-an-algebraic-loop-with-with-a-memory-block/?s_tid=answers_rc2-3_p6_Topic
