secant method for nonlinear equations

I would like to get suggestions on how I can start a program using functions that would use the secant method to find the roots of nonlinear equations. I'm not that familiarize with matlab programs and neither with the secant method. Any help please? This is not a do it for me question, I'm just asking for suggestions
