If you can't find an answer in the license itself, then call them for a fast and free answer. Or try it and see if it activates. If you can't, it won't activate (at least that's the way it is with the professional license). But we non-Mathworks community members are not qualified to give definitive answers on licensing questions - only the Mathworks is.

No, if it is a true Student license then the R2017a license terms only permit it to be installed on one computer. The same is the case for Home licenses.
It is possible for universities to provide Academic licenses to students, such as under a Total Academic Headcount master license. Students can install those kinds of licenses on two (2) computers simultaneously.

Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for. I didn't know there was a difference between the Total Academic Headcount license and the Student license. I use both my desktop and laptop to do school work so it's good to know I can install in both.

Generally, the answer to such questions depends on the license type and other licenses related stuff.
To get a swift answer, directly contact MathWorks Technical Support India office assuming you are based in India. You may need to select 'INSTALL' team for this query when you are calling to Technical Support. You can find contact information from below link,
